Sky’s Broadcast Technologies Design team has a phenomenal new opportunity for a Cloud Design Engineer to join our team to contribute and bring fresh ideas to the table. Broadcast Technologies is pivotal in technology innovation of these systems that support Content origination & playout, Content contribution & distribution areas and developing their control and monitoring capabilities. As a valuable member of the team, you’ll help support, drive improvements, and build new functionality on our platforms so that Sky can continue to provide the amazing content that our customers love! You will be working across state-of-the-art projects as Broadcast teams at Sky look to Cloud solutions for scale and agile deployment. Collaborating with like-minded problem solvers across the company and driving the development of these platforms forward.

What you’ll do:

• Delivery of innovative, scalable, resilient, and robust designs to evolve Sky’s key systems and contributing to its ongoing success.
• Creation and maintaining of high-level design documentation.
• Creation of accurate low-level design and configuration documentation.
• Work with Manufacturers and colleagues on requirement gathering and new technologies to broaden your experience to deliver new functionality for our customers & audiences.

What you’ll bring:

• Configuration management (example: one of Ansible/ Puppet/ Terraform/ Chef/ Salt etc.).
• CI/CD (create jobs in e.g., Jenkins/ Concourse/ GoCD/ gitlab-ci). Cloud Platforms (deploying and automation within at least one of e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure etc).
• Ability to write and integrate with Restful services / APIs. Containerisation (entry-level).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and Ethernet based technologies. (TCP/IP, UDP, QoS etc).
• Core skills such as attention to detail, problem solving, critical thinking and an ability to “Think outside of the box”. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present their ideas in front of colleagues from a range of business areas and backgrounds.
• Experience with languages such as Python, C#, Java. etc. and expertise in at least one.
