About this role
Dynamic Infrastructure in BT underpins the fixed and mobile network that the entire country relies upon. In Secure Development our responsibilities and projects range from vulnerability scanning, to cyber security, to physical security, through to UK security. We play a significant part in providing the tools that help BT to protect itself, our customers and the UK
The purpose of the Software Engineering Professional role within Secure Development is to make a significant contribution to the implementation of integration solutions. Delivering cutting edge security solutions while driving profitable revenue growth you will have a passion for continuously improving the skills, capabilities and working processes of self and team.
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Design and deliver s/w components and configuration to a high standard, consistent with overarching policies and standards, for significant integration solutions for internal and external customers.
• Provide end to end support for a range of development test and production environments comprising VMs running Linux and Oracle databases, potentially carrying out release activities out of hours
• Create appropriate documentation to facilitate operations teams in maintenance and patching activities
• Be active in driving automation in the all aspects of delivery and operation through scritping languages such as Python, Bash, SQL/PLSQL and tools such as Rundeck and Ansible

• 2+ years Software Engineering experience
• Eligibility for UK security clearance
Desirable Skills:
One or more of:
• Computer Science, SW Engineering or related degree
• Agile methodology
• OO languages such as Java, Ruby, C#, C++
• Databases, Oracle experience
• Automation scripting language such as python/SQL/bash/ansible
• Linux experience
• VM technologies such as VMWare
• Integrating webservices (e.g. REST/SOAP) experience
