About this role

The Delivery Validation & Assurance team sits within IT Partner Management and is responsible for the delivery of IT Services via outsourced managed services and the assurance of internal IT Services across the organisation.

The primary focus is to ensure business needs are satisfied in a cost effective and timely manner aligned to the IT strategic plans whilst preserving the value of Partner engagements and following a control and compliance framework.  

You'll have the following responsibilities

Delivery of solution designs ensuring quality to standards, time, cost employing frameworks and

The role builds domain solution designs and/or enterprise strategies to integrate all aspects of the solution (network, system, process, and people) to ensure it works together

Work through the resolution within time and resource constraints within this area and has e2e responsibility of that solution.

To provide the project delivery community with consultancy to enable cost effective and timely delivery of solutions from outsourced IT Managed Service Partners.

Assurance of the end to end delivery process and outcomes delivered by Partners across the organisation.  Providing an auditable trail of the value delivered by the Partner.  Whilst ensuring that cost, quality and time performance measures are met from a compliance and controls perspective.

To maintain Technical ownership of the systems within area of expertise by monitoring and guiding both the high level and detailed design activity undertaken by Partners or internal teams.

To ensure the integrity of the systems within area of expertise by reviewing solutions documentation and responses to specific requirements including High Level Designs and plans.

Assist in technical and process escalations and the subsequent improvement activity across the organisation.

Provide the project delivery community with consultancy to enable cost effective and timely delivery of solutions from outsourced IT Partners.

Act as a point of co-ordination to align delivery and test plans from Partners for Functional Delivery Activity. Provide guidance and direction to projects requiring Partner engagement. Review estimates and commitments of the effort required for specific deliverables provided by partners. Provide a point of Technical escalation for project delivery issues

Advise and guide Partner Management and Sourcing in performing benchmark exercises validating partners against the open market.

Continuous assessment of the technical capability of the Partner and driving continuous improvement where necessary

Review estimates and commitments of the effort required for specific deliverables provided by partners. Provide a point of Technical escalation for project delivery issues

Ensure that the stability/performance/availability of the systems are a key consideration of the execution of the role (design)

Develop and maintain ‘subject matter expertise’ level of knowledge across IT applications whilst managing key partners

Maintaining a can-do attitude amidst conflicting priorities and constant change.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Skills you would be expected to have:

Stakeholder Management: Able to establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitate mutually beneficial negotiations to develop solutions, ensuring they meet current and emerging business and technical needs.

Transformation: Able to support long-term changes and adapt the unit in line with the business. 

Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively solve business problems that deal with uncertainty e.g. demand profile planning including location, skill and resource. Also, some problems will be multi-platform wide, impacting multiple services or cross-portfolio solutions

Be Agile:  Support collaborative and agile ways of working through projects and programmes effectively managing changing priorities. 

The role is specifically intended to validate Partner solutions from a commercial perspective so is critical to delivering the value of the Partner Contracts/Work.

Experience you would be expected to have:

Proven experience of delivering technical solutions in a diverse environment

Experience of managing relationships with software partners and third-party development partners, of product/package selection, and of delivering those products into a production environment

Experience of successfully delivering application development using clear project management techniques and methodologies, employing a combination of internal and Partner-supplied resource.

Experience in managing relationships with internal business customers, and understanding and planning for the delivery of agreed solutions to meet mutual business needs.

Experience of communicating directly with and using influencing skills at senior management levels.

Experience of working in a team environment

In-depth knowledge of the business functions and technology within the domain.
