Deputy Nursery Manager
As we grow and expand, we are on the hunt an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager at our Kensington setting.
Maggie & Rose Nurseries are unique settings, creative havens designed by looking at the world through the childs eyes. Our aims and ethos are based on the rationale of learning through play, with a researched pedagogy to support a developmental curriculum which inspires children to learn. We provide a plethora of resources with an innovative timetable to support childrens engagement in a warm, stimulating environment with caring professional practitioners. Our nurseries are an extension of the family home, where children feel secure, nurtured, and settled.
The Deputy Nursery Manager is an experienced, qualified childcare professional who actively supports the Nursery Manager and the nursery team in providing a safe and secure environment.
What the job involves:
- Planning a team rota, ensuring teams are balanced to provide practice - based learning experiences, ensuring that each rota configuration has a maximum of 50% unqualified in ratio, ensuring that the minimum ratio required for groups is correctly configured
- Ensuring that Teams are committed to providing learning opportunities throughout the working day, with focused activities that support developmental growth and are actively observing children
- Ensure that your policies are reflective of best practice
- Funding application to local authorities is timely and accurate
- Provide training opportunities for team members
- Promote positive communication and engagement with parents and professionals
- Host Open days, Stay and Play Sessions, Parents Evenings and Parent Workshops
- Ensure supervisions, probation reviews and appraisals are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure the safeguarding code of conduct is adhered to and implemented always.
What are we looking for?
- Essential: Minimum Level 3 qualification Childrens and Young Peoples Workforce.
- Desirable: NVQ 5 Paediatric First Aid Food Hygiene Certificate Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Excellent working knowledge of OFSTED requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage Requirements. Proven knowledge of providing learning opportunities to support childrens development.
- Desirable: Specialist Knowledge in areas of SEND, Pedagogical approaches such as Montessori, Reggio, STEAM, Forestry, or other approaches to providing opportunities to learn.
- Essential: Minimum of one years experience in a management position within a Nursery or Pre-School. Minimum of three-year history in the field of early learning.
- Experience of working with local authorities
- To be an effective communicator, organised, calm, and caring, good administration and IT skills. Work as part of a team and be responsible in working independently.
