A career within Delivering Deal Value will provide you with the opportunity to help clients achieve maximum value on their deal transactions by solving transformational and other complex challenges. We focus on all operational aspects of a transaction, pre and post completion. We conduct pre deal and confirmatory due diligence, execute large-scale enterprise wide integrations, and support complex divestitures and separations on a wide range of functional and cross-functional areas.

We help our clients determine the right strategic priorities to grow profitably and maximize shareholder value, while offering support and practical solutions to achieve these objectives. We combine strategic insight, rigorous financial and operational analysis and in-depth industry expertise with access to PwC's global network of industry and functional specialists, local knowledge and resources.

What you’ll create and do

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a deal team of multi-functional specialists (strategy, operations, finance, IT and HR) along with industry experts to maximize deal value through both pre and post deal phases. Engagement focus areas traverse the deals lifecycle and include deal strategy, operational assessment and improvement, due diligence support, people capability building, and post merger integration and separations - all built on a data and analytics led foundation. 

Delivering Deal Value (DDV) is a market leading capability sitting within PwC’s Value Creation Practice, assisting both Corporate and Private Equity (PE) clients in a wide range of high impact situations. The M&A Deals we work on range in size from $50m to over $5bn and our clients include several of the most well-known brands and businesses in the world.

Over the course of your career as a Senior Associate in Value Creation, you will have the opportunity to: 

Support the transaction leaders (buy side and sell side) in the execution of large complex global deals - from origination, through diligence and signing to closing

Assist buy and sell side teams with a conducting operational/carve out/synergy diligence to identify potential deal related risks and opportunities

Assist clients with the identification of synergy targets, developing synergy hypothesis/initiatives and enable management to achieve the synergy targets 

Support integration/separation leaders in the development of the strategy and tactics that will allow for the achievement of the deal thesis

Work collaboratively with the deal teams to develop Day 1/100 plans and support teams in executing on the plan to achieve a successful deal close

Work with business leaders across multiple functions (commercial, operations, HR, IT and Finance) to develop the integration/separation plans and bring problem solving and people management skills to facilitate successful implementation 

Build subject matter depth in key functional areas (Finance, HR, IT) and work with C-level clients to identify integration/separation priorities, design end state and interim state operating models and implement transition plans (technology, process, people) 

What you’ll bring to this role

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives

Hands on experience with one or more M&A transactions involving

Technology due diligence (Buy or Sell side) involving IT, Cybersecurity and associated areas

Analyze complex matters related to deals i.e.  IT Applications, Infrastructure including data centers, cloud computing, end user computing, networks etc.

Capturing IT Cost Synergies and process efficiencies

Help develop recommendations for IT organizational design and identity key gaps; help develop future state staffing models

Plan and develop materials for functional workshops during multiple phases of the deal

Help with business development initiatives including proposals, RFP responses etc.

Experience with integrations and carve outs preferably in a global setting with depth in Information Technology

Experience with conducting diligence including data requests, management interviews, report development and development of the deal value creation thesis and/or synergies

Strong communication and presentation capability (reports, PowerPoint presentations and other deliverables)  

Willing to travel throughout Canada, with the potential to travel outside of Canada, depending on client requirements. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments 

Experience working with big data tools (Alteryx, Power BI, tableau, etc.) is an asset
