Our Real Estate Advisory team specializes in advisory and transaction services including valuations/appraisals, development advisory, M&A advisory, occupier advisory, real estate organizational structures, real estate technology consulting, and data & analytics advisory to support real estate strategy, all of which are specifically focused within the real estate industry sector.

What you’ll create and do

You will play an essential role as part of a team working on client engagements. Your work will include hands-on work with diverse real estate advisory projects such as M&A (sell-side, buy-side, joint ventures and structured transactions), development and feasibility analysis (including pro-forma modelling and data analytics), ESG real estate strategy, analysis on corporate real estate portfolios, and document preparation (pitches, reports, information memorandums, market assessments) on a variety of client files. 

More specifically, you will be:

A team member who will be exposed to all of our Real Estate Advisory services working with our various practice discipline specialists 

Assisting and/or analyzing real estate market research and analysis across multiple asset classes in numerous markets across Canada (and also from time to time the US)

Supporting various financial analysis and assisting in projects with underwriting/assessment of investment real estate 

Supporting the preparation of thought leadership, be instrumental in business development, and prepare various deliverables using appropriate industry and business acumen

Interacting with various clients, advisors, and stakeholder groups

Interacting with key members within the PwC Real Estate team, PwC’s broader deals group (e.g. restructuring, value creation), and our firm-wide real estate group (tax, assurance, etc.)

What you’ll bring to this role

​An interest in upskilling for a digital world (e.g. Power BI, Alteryx, etc.) and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work 

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives

Ability to multitask on competing deadlines within a fast paced and team-oriented environment

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Relevant years of knowledge and experience in real estate, preferably working within an investment environment or consulting firm

Your real estate background may include transactions, corporate real estate (i.e. occupiers of real estate), real estate spatial analytics, asset & investment management; some knowledge in one or more of the following would be favourable: ESG, data analytics, financial due diligence, real estate OpCo M&A including investment management platforms

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for various financial analyses, and Argus would be highly desirable

Proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Google Slides for pitches, presentations, and deliverables
