What will you be doing? 

A day support role within the 24/7 Operations team, assisting with faults, change and planned outages whilst focusing on primary support of customer satellite activations and deactivations for a major customer account.

• Support the Shift desk in dealing with faults on all platforms.
• Support installation activities on IP networks.
• Liaise directly with Satellite Operations team for 2nd line support.
• Keep customer information and documentation up-to-date, in line with VSS requirements.
• Provide a professional interface to Customers.

Who are we looking for?  

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills who is able to maintain Customer confidentiality.  You must have the aptitude to work unsupervised for extended periods, have a clear and analytical approach to problem management, be able to set own goals and priorities to complete the task at hand and a flexible attitude with willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ in support of Customer requirements.

• Ability to hold Developed Vetting (DV) level security clearance.
• Hands on knowledge of SATCOMS, in a Telecoms Provider environment.
• Knowledge of IP networking, switching and routing equipment and principles.
• Knowledge of SDH/DWDM equipment and principles.
• Should be able to effectively use Telecoms test equipment that is relevant to support the roles duties.
• Ideally a degree/telecommunications related industry recognised professional qualification such as CCNA (or equivalent) or above.
