Responsibilities

The Datacenter Engineering Design Manager will manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield, brownfield and retrofit engineering / design projects.  This specific position will support network growth/upgrade refresh and this position will manage internal and external resources for the delivery of the Datacenter building, power, cooling, telecom, and controls infrastructure to align with Microsoft Corporation Datacenter capacity roadmap for the APAC region.    

 The Datacenter Engineering Design Manager will also be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of Microsoft’s industry-leading Datacenter designs including the development of innovative technology and advanced concepts from site due diligence through design development, permitting, construction, and the turnover to Operations.  This role will provide design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadership for our Datacenter designs. To be successful in this role the candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete Datacenter design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules, and budgets of the projects.  The Design Manager will engage with key MS stakeholder groups within Microsoft as well as outside vendors who specialize in Datacenter architecture and engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Telecoms/Networks or related field.    
• Technical understanding of mission critical environments. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.    
• Ability to lead teams of architects and engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large datacenter environments.
