This is an exciting opportunity to step into the Data, Insights and Analytics Team in Asda Technology as a Data Vault Modeller.   The role is a new vacancy for the expansion of our data team to work on the Future Programme, which will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on a cutting edge Data Ecosystem!  The role will be delivery focused, working within architecture frameworks and in agile squads to deliver an end-to-end enterprise solution at a rapid pace.

Your Role:

• Work in a team of data architects to design an enterprise data model using data vault 2.0 methodology and to design data marts using Kimball.
• Work with architects, analysts and engineers in an Agile squad to oversee the delivery of your designs and to take ownership of design issues.
• Provide technical leadership and support for your portfolio of work.
• Facilitate workshops and requirement gathering with the business to gain consensus on design decisions.
• Contribute to principles, design patterns, solution architectures and engineering standards.
• Present designs to architecture forums and review boards.

About you:

• Experience in data architecture design methodologies such as Inmon and Kimball.  Data Vault 2.0 would be desirable.
• Fundamental understanding of cloud frameworks and big data technologies preferably with Azure including Data Lake, Synapse, SQL, Data Factory, Python, Spark, Power BI.
• Strong skills in analytical thinking, communication and consensus-building.
• Experience working in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Experience working in Agile.
• Ability to balance the requirements of strategic architecture with the needs of engineering and delivery.
• A background in engineering and coding would be desirable.
