About this role
Data is critical to the effectiveness of all Sales, Service and Billing journeys. To be successful, competitive and productive, BT needs to consciously manage its data; and that means ensuring that data is securely held and maintained in a way that aligns with our legal and contractual commitments. Furthermore we need to be sure that our data is only made available to those people whose roles require it and that others are preventing from accessing it.
Only with safely stored and securely managed data will Global really be able to drive sales and delight customers.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Collaborating with enterprise architects to design; maintain and implement an access control infrastructure that will ensure that only designated role holders get to see particular data sets.
Work with colleagues from the Group Risk team to promote best practises and ensure that we only take on contractual obligations in relation to data that we can fully meet or (by exception) that are properly owned as active risks.
Developing the capability to understand data lineage and then use that capability to trace key data elements that appear on board level reports.
Work alongside the Group Data Privacy specialists to ensure that the process for conducting Privacy Impact Assessments within Global is simple, effective and actively managed
You'll have the following skills & experience
Key skills identified as:
Good understanding of data security risks and routes for mitigation.
Expertise in data modelling and implied understanding of relational and other types of enterprise database.
Five years’ experience working with data in a large corporate environment with a strong risk management and security.
Strong ability to communicate complex issues and make highly persuasive, evidence based arguments.
Able to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels within the business.
Able to work effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team, but also to act independently in progressing work.
Other skills beneficial for the role are:
Experience working the big data and/or cloud computing technologies an advantage (preferably GCP).
Good Degree Level (preferably Engineering or Computer Science)
Experience of DCAM
