Data Scientist - 129745

THE ROLE: 

This dynamic, highly visible role drives product Quality & Reliability from concept to end of life to ensure a differentiated experience, improve customer happiness and build customer confidence. The suitable candidate will lead and be accountable for Quality & Reliability for all AMD datacenter CPU products. This is a high visibility role for highly expert candidates.

THE PERSON: 

Proven success working in product Quality and Reliability, with strong familiarity of Semiconductor IC Product Development, Silicon Fab process, high volume manufacturing, external supplier and customer interactions, and project management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Interaction with customers and multi-functional teams to lead data analysis, presenting various scenarios of the products from server market perspective based on Pareto, DPPM and customer fail logs.
• Customer interface for quality & reliability related items.
• Understanding of Fab and OSAT supplier’s data to meet product quality requirements including NUDD (New, Outstanding, Different, Difficult) for future technologies
• Meet Customer Quality work per program achievements including customer interactions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Data analytics of manufacturing and customer data. Understanding and ability to analyze customer fail logs.
• Comfortable dealing with customer quality issues that requires structured problem solving and strong communication skills.
• Strong data analysis is a MUST with knowledge in SQL, Python, pivot tables, JMP/Minitab tool.
• Must have ability to write scripts for data analysis looking at data in various angle.
• Must have semiconductor validated experience in product quality or reliability or product engineering. Board level experience is a huge plus.
• Highly organized, able to prioritize, and balance multiple work streams to tight deadlines.

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE:

• Visualization: Microsoft Power BI
• Databases: PostgreSQL, pgAdmin, DBeaver, Microsoft SQL, Visual Studio, Microsoft Server Integration Services, Microsoft SQL Management Studio
• Big data: Apache Hadoop Data Lake, Cloudera Impala, Cloudera CDSW, Kubeflow
• Data Science: Python, Linear Regression, Times Series Forecast, Random Forest Regressor, NLP

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

BS/MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent.
