The Data Team within Asda Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Reporting & Data Visualisation Analyst. Asda is currently investing heavily in its data landscape, and this is a brand new role with the opportunity to shape and add lots of value across Asda.

This role is an opportunity to be part of one of the largest transformations in the world which includes the rationalisation of our existing reporting estate and transition to a new suite of outcome focussed reports on next-generation systems and toolsets.

This is a varied analyst role where you will support the organisation on a journey to define a new set of reporting metrics and solutions that support and drive the overall company strategy.

Part of the Future data transformation, you will work with business leaders, engineering teams, and SME's to define and implement a new reporting & visualisation ecosystem for Asda.

The successful candidate will report to the Reporting Data Visualisation Manager and will support the development of reports and visualisations across the business. You will have a passion, not just for data – but for how data is presented, understood and actioned upon. You will enjoy engaging with business and helping them to shape their future reporting & visualisation landscape.

Your Role

• Identify areas where self service data sets and appropriate tooling can reduce the need for fixed reports.
• Engage with the business to understand their requirements and help in the shaping and development of their KPI's & reporting/visualisation needs for the future.
• Help design and set the standard for best practices across reporting and data visualisation ecosystem and be at the forefront of sharing those across the wider team.
• Support the development of future reporting & visualisation solutions across the different business areas (Towers) to produce reports/dashboards which provide insight and tell a story.

About You

• Ideally, you will have a Data background, including some experience of SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, analytics and visualisation tools.g. Tablelau, Tibco, PowerBI
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts in plain English to team members, and business stakeholders where required
• You will be proactive and resilient
• Strong interpersonal skills to build a high degree of credibility and presence to negotiate, influence, inspire confidence and respect, to develop a network within and outside of the Data Team
• A desire to develop and grow within the Data, Insights & Analytics team and bring your own ideas to the table
