Job Description Summary
At an exciting time of transformation within Group Finance, coupled with a fast-evolving risk and regulatory environment, an opportunity has arisen within the Finance Data Office to make a tangible impact on our data.
We’re looking for two managers to guide the embedding of Data Management strategies, policies and processes across Finance. The ideal candidates will support key partners across Finance with the emphasis on bringing to life our data risks and how this impacts our division and mitigation strategies.
OUR PRIORITIES
• Support Finance to identify report and mitigate Data Management and Data Quality risks, working to improve controls.
• Manage the Data Management strategic direction within Finance.
• Engage with Platform Teams and ground-breaking technical programmes.
• Ensure divisional compliance with BCBS239, GDPR and Data Management Policy requirements.
• Collaborate with Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) and other Divisional Data Offices.
Job Description
THE ROLE & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Champion Data Management across the Division and cross divisionally, driving forward policy compliance, strategy embedding and Data Advocacy.
- Lead and develop key Data governance and Data Quality activities, including advice and guidance to working parties, 2nd line and regulators.
- Leading, co-ordinating and reporting on key OneRCSA oversight activities.
- Working with the Platform Teams and CDAO to support the oversight of adherence to Data Management policy and plans.
- Create and manage key Governance materials supporting Data Management committees and forums.
- Demonstrate continuous learning and self-development, especially around emerging Agile and Systems thinking concepts.
THE CANDIDATE
- Experience of managing Governance activities in-line with Group Policies to satisfy Risk and Regulatory requirements.
- Experience with projects and high level business/process analysis is an advantage.
- Have a strong track record of delivery and understand how the Group delivers change, driving continuous improvement against a constantly evolving landscape.
- Excellent senior communication & influencing skills – both in person and in writing e.g. presentation material, risk reporting, communications.
- Ability to adopt a flexible approach, adapting quickly and collaboratively across different environments and specialisms covering a wide range of topics.
- Deputise for senior colleagues and be comfortable challenging and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Bring a problem solving approach with the ability to challenge and constructively debate key issues.
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
- Practical experience of implementing the Group Data Policy in LBG.
- Contributes to the determination of the Group’s Data Management appetite and develops strategic objectives in own area to enable the implementation of effective data and monitoring.
- Ability to run and manage Governance forums to a high standard to cover Compliance requirements for areas such as BCBS239.
COMMUNICATION
- Adept and recognised communicator. Shows good impact in communication style; adjusting to their audience
- Provides interpretation and translation of Data Management policy into risk management processes, systems and methodologies.
- Engages and works collaboratively with senior stakeholders to influence and challenge key business decisions and support successful development and delivery of business objectives - attends appropriate risk and data forums and committees.
ORGANISATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
- Build and maintain an external and internal network to identify industry standard methodology and ensure, legal, regulatory and professional compliance.
- Able to assess the impact of change on products, systems, processes and people. Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in all relevant areas.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT
- Seek opportunities for, and champions, change - to deliver continuous improvement to systems and processes
- Communicate and explain change effectively. Plans and implements changes gaining commitment and understanding, minimising disruption to service.
