The Data Quality Analyst sits within the newly created Data Governance team and will undertake to deliver to the business a variety of data quality improvement initiatives, including working with data owners and stewards to define minimum standards for Critical Data Attributes (CDA) and building processes to actively monitor the ongoing quality against these. Where issues occur the Data Quality Analyst will work with a variety of teams to investigate the root cause, design and execute a remediation plan and ensure that robust controls landscape exist to provide assurances that our data quality related risk remains within risk appetite.

When new data sources are introduced to the business, the Data Quality Analyst will be expected to interface with tribes and functions across Gousto to define data governance requirements ensuring these are incorporated into agreed project plans and final delivery meets minimum standards and policy.

In addition the Data Quality Analyst will be an active contributor to the population of key artefacts like Data Catalogue, Definitions, Glossary and Lineage. Helping to increase coverage, address inaccuracies and ensure Gousto data is easily discovered, high quality, well understood, remains within risk appetite and enables faster, more effective data science and insight products to be delivered.

Although initially the above will be achieved through manual processes and documentation, the Data Quality Analyst will play an active role in the selection, implementation and adoption of data quality tooling to support the planned efforts and desire to scale the team.

What will keep you busy

• Driving creation and adoption of minimum data quality standards, policies, and best practises across the Data Ownership & Steward community
• Profiling data to establish current view of data quality
• Performing root cause analysis to discover the cause of data issue and recommend action to remediate
• Monitoring, investigating and escalating issues found to data owners as appropriate
• Maintaining artefacts -documenting ownership, minimum standards, definitions and classification of critical data attributes.
• Advise on various projects and initiatives to ensure that any data related changes and dependencies are identified, communicated and managed to ensure adherence with the Data Governance established standards.

• Creating high quality training and communication materials to promote Data Quality practices across Gousto

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of SQL or Advanced Excel for data investigation
• Experience defining and implementing data quality rules
• Experience in creation of Data Management artefacts (Glossary, definition, standards, lineage)
• Exposure to Power BI, SIFT or similar tooling
• Ability to gather and interpret business needs and requirements
• Knowledge of Data Quality Frameworks and methodologies e.g. DAMA
• Self-motivated problem solver with a high attention to details
• Good verbal and written communication skills that can adapt for different audiences
