Job Description

The Role

 

Alongside reporting into the Team Leader, you will carry out the following duties on a daily basis: 

 

  • Perform troubleshooting in response to faults and resolve defects on assigned systems
  • Ensure station documentation and drawings are maintained and accurately reflect design and configuration changes
  • Carry out all activities whilst adhering to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and safety rules
  • Be responsible for the medium to long term equipment reliability of assigned systems
  • Liaise with peers in other Engineering groups within the fleet, to share best practise and foster a continuous development mind-set for local and fleet performance
  • Perform Condition Monitoring, Performance Trending, Plant Walk downs and System Health Reviews as required
  • Responsible for Outage scope definition, preparation and delivery
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in plant areas as designated

The Skills

 

As our next Data Protection Engineer (Plant Computing) you will have the following skills and attributes

 

  • As a minimum, entrants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent), candidates with a relevant Degree may have an advantage
  • The role will be primarily working with legacy industrial computer systems, therefore any relevant experience will be advantageous
  • Ideally the candidate will have a background in legacy plant computing hardware, software development
  • Background in nuclear power plant operations, engineering or technical and safety disciplines would be advantage but not essential, training will be provided based on existing experience

Competitive Salary & Benefits

 

The salary range is between £36,175 - £65,536, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Company Agreement.  The starting salary for this appointment will be dependent of your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.  You will receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression and a Company pension scheme.
