Job Description

You will provide system design and delivery skills as part a team within TalkTalk that ensures compliance with UK Legislation.  The Regulatory Solution Designers work for the Regulatory Architect to plan, design, deliver, and test a collection of dedicated systems used by a small team in TalkTalk.  The Regulatory Solution Designers also work with the Regulatory Engineer, who provides in-life support and maintenance of the regulatory systems.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of the regulatory systems and their associated technologies and interfaces to the wider business.  Many of the system lifecycle activities for the regulatory systems must be performed by a small team due to security clearance requirements, so the role requires a willingness to acquire and maintain broad range of technical and personal skills.  This includes infrastructure design, system integration, testing, business process design, writing technical design documentation, and user training.

This role is ideally suited to an individual that is keen to develop a variety of technical solution design skills in a security context whilst playing an important role in keeping our customers safe.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Support the Regulatory Architect by designing regulatory systems so that the TalkTalk Disclosure Team can work efficiently and TalkTalk can meet its regulatory obligations.
  • Review the results of health and security checks on existing regulatory systems and define activities for continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain design documents for relevant regulatory systems TalkTalk.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with existing and potential suppliers and customers of relevant regulatory systems.
  • Define test specifications for new and existing regulatory systems.
  • Represent TalkTalk at Industry working groups on regulatory systems.

Must have:

  • Ability to obtain & hold UKSC security clearance.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Be great to also have:

  • Experience of the Investigatory Powers Act (2017).
  • Solution development lifecycle experience.
  • Experience of designing systems where security is a primary concern
  • Knowledge of how IP and voice services are provided by a CSP.
  • Database/SQL development experience.
