Microsoft Development Center Estonia, with Offices in Tallinn and Tartu, is part of the Experiences & Devices division within Microsoft and well known for its Skype history. Today, our focus is much broader: We are building the Intelligent Conversations & Communications Cloud (IC3) which powers communication services for millions of Microsoft customers around the world across products such as Skype, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Xbox, Windows, Azure and more. Our IC3 platform is one of the largest Azure deployments worldwide and growing rapidly. We own many large-scale applications in Estonia: from real-time communications, engineering systems to commerce, payments, anti-fraud and SMS. Together with partner teams across Microsoft we build and run an intelligent fabric of communication services to empower every person and organization to achieve more. 
We develop highly scalable and reliable backend services running on Azure, supporting millions of Microsoft customers every day.  
 
Media Delivery Network is a focused team developing and operating core components of IC3 real-time media transport. Our network infrastructure and software are used across enterprise and consumer segments of Office 365 and are built with exceptional compliance and security. Using big data, we are creating an intelligent network that learns and adapts to customer demands. 
We are looking for a software engineer to help us build, improve, and scale our data processing frameworks in demanding environment. You will also perform and apply data analysis to further improve quality and reliability of our network and services. 

Responsibilities

• Building data processing tools, libraries, frameworks and performing and getting insights from data analysis 
• Learning and using tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer, PowerBI, Python and more public and Microsoft internal tools 
• Working closely with partner teams 
• Growing engineering culture and best practices 

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field 
• 3+ years of experience in buiding and maintaining cloud-based services 
• Strong working experience with object-oriented programming languages 
• Love for data engineering and analysis - looking for insights from massive telemetry, coming from hundreds of millions of records per day 
• Is a self-starter and likes to learn every day
