The Bing local retail and category search team is looking for passionate applied scientist to help us deliver the excellent local search experience in Bing across data/algorithm/infrastructure & application-level work.

The scope of this position will mainly focus on building the personalized search experience and local recommendation with highly scalability and performance and high user engagement.

This position allows you to learn more details of the search internals:  algorithms/infrastructures/data.  You will have insight of how Search works end-to-end.  You will also have chance to learn how to build highly efficient search and recommendation system to handle huge amount of traffic on large scale data.

Responsibilities

• Design/Implement/Experiment and ship local search products/experience
• Improve search relevance & data quality.
• Drive the cross-team collaboration the whole life cycle of the feature end to end.
• Build universal/cross lingual search algorithm and infrastructure. 
• Design, coding, and shipping of high quality and high-performance personalized search and recommendation products and services
• Work with program & product management to contribute to product roadmaps and new service definitions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent industry experience
• 2+ years of software development experience with C#, C/C++
• Deep learning or ML fundamentals
• Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
• Good communication

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or higher degree in computer science or related field is a plus.
• Concrete knowledge and experience in data mining/machine learning related projects, recommendation or personalization preferred.
• Full stack development experience for web service
• 3+ years of professional development experience in building & operating online services.
