Job Description

The Opportunity

The purpose of the Work Management Group is to ensure that work and the required resources to support all activities are planned and scheduled to maintain the design basis and material condition of the plant, to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Nuclear Power Station.
 

Operating Environment
Thinking Environment: The Cycle Planner is required to operate under company and departmental governance within the Work Management process documentation.

Key Relationships: Works in support of the Cycle Coordinator and in conjunction with the Work Week Manager. Liaises with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance Teams Leaders and other key personnel

Breadth of responsibilities: Develops and manages work plan to deliver key plan milestones

Challenges and Problem Solving: Ensures efficient and effective use of resources during plan preparation.

The Role

The successful Work Cycle Planner will be responsible for the following daily:

  • To act as a Nuclear Professional at all times and have a Nuclear Safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken.
  • Perform post execution week reviews to capture learning, identify and drive areas for improvement.
  • The primary responsibility of the Work Cycle Planner is the scheduling and arranging of Work week tasks to reduce operational risk through efficient work package and plant alignment.
  • Producing level 2/3 plans to support project activities to maximise work delivery efficiencies.
  • Aligning new work and bundling defects to agreed System Aligned Work Windows.
  • Continuously challenging station WM standards by demonstrating a ‘can-do’ attitude to drive departmental / station improvements.
  • Ensure non-completed work is dispositioned to the correct forward work window in accordance with compliance limitations.
  • Ensure significant or critical work in plans is identified to stake holders.
  • Provide appropriate support to ensure delivery of Work Management Department and Station Business Plan objectives.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with relevant stakeholders to promote engagement with the work management process.

The Skills

As the successful Work Cycle Planner at Heysham 2 you will have the following:

  • A HNC is not required for the role, but candidates with a HNC may have an advantage. Relevant GCSE/National Qualification (or equivalent) or suitable experience is preferential.
  • Post holder will have a working knowledge & understanding of performing routine maintenance activities on mechanical heavy industrial plant, apparatus or systems.
  • Proficient in operating key Work Management software tools e.g. AMS, COGNOS, Microsoft Projects and other Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of a Nuclear Power Stations plant and equipment will be advantageous
  • You will have a results focused can-do-attitude to work
  • Strong evidence of being a successful team member
