What will you be responsible for?
The Cyber Security Architect will be responsible for ensuring the integration of Westpac Banking Corp’s life insurance business into TAL is a success, aligning the internal security architecture and uplifting the new components to TAL’s standards.
You will take ownership of the Integration program planning and outcomes, managing multiple streams that require quick turn arounds. Your ability to work in agile and sprint styles will be advantageous.
Your duties will include:
- Stay up-to-date of cyber security technologies and recommend appropriate security solutions based on the emerging threat profile
- Identify opportunities for simplification and consolidation of security solutions for increased productivity and better integration in the areas but not limited to Cyber Threat Management, Identity and Access Management, Data Protection, and Cloud Security (primarily Azure)
- Lead the evaluation of cyber security tools and select appropriate tools for uplifting the security posture, keeping in alignment with APRA legislative requirements
- Define security requirements for solutions during the planning stage, and perform cyber threat modelling to define cyber security controls during design stage, as part of the "Secure by Design (SbD) process"
- Work closely with the Architects and Platform Owners to embed cyber security controls as part of the solution, guide them with the risk assessment process, and assist the Cyber Security Assurance Manager in scoping the assurance activities for the solutions, ensuring all solutions are aligned with the security architecture principles and cyber security standards
- Review and provide timely feedback on technical deliverables including, but are not limited to the designs, test plans, implementation plans, remediation plan and operational handover documentation
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively with both TAL and WBC business units and technology stakeholders, and third party business partners
- Develop strong knowledge of the business, its policies, practices and procedures and demonstrate how to correctly apply these throughout the integration
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years working in a similar Cyber Security Architect role in complex technology and integration environments
- Previous experience working in large integration projects with agile and sprint working styles
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to establish strong relationships with both internal and external partners, and communicate positively and openly with colleagues, customers and partners
- Proven ability to deliver information security solutions that meet business and legislative requirements and align with risk appetite and compliance obligations
- Demonstrated experience in leading the technical architecture design for security solutions covering both on premise and cloud technologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry leading information security solutions including but not limited to: Qualys, CrowdStrike, Okta, Active Directory, SailPoint, CyberArk, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.
- Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards, APRA CPS234, ASD8, CIS 20 and NIST CSF
- Ability to consult with business on requirements and develop innovative solutions
- Enjoy collaborating and leveraging TAL’s supportive culture to achieve goals, and also continuously grow and develop
- Previous experience working on large integration programs in the Life Insurance or Financial Services industry would be highly desired
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and with ambiguity, while thriving in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail
