Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in security matters: Authentication Protocols, Identity and Access Management Systems, Key Management Systems, encryptions, securing mobile OS systems, securing complex cloud architectures, Incident Management, etc.
  • Experience in cloud computing (infrastructure, storage, platforms and data), the cloud market and competitive dynamics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience serving as CISO, security software/or sales engineer in a cloud environment or equivalent experience in a customer facing role (professional services or systems engineering team).
  • Experience in privacy and compliance (e.g. IT certifications (ISO, SOC), EU privacy laws and regulations (GDPR) and regulated industries).
  • Working knowledge of Main Traditional Security Protocols, such as OAuth, OpenID, HTTPS-TLS-SSL, PKI.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Identity and Access Management solutions and Encryption solutions.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work with new technologies/methodologies/solutions in cloud/IT.

As a Sales Engineer, you'll design solutions and take them to market. You'll help drive awareness of our solutions at industry conferences and Google events. You will help decision makers understand the benefits of Google Cloud Platform to drive growth and customer success.

In this role, you'll become a trusted advisor to Google's clients and prospects, and advocate for our platform, helping our partners to get the most value from our platform.

You'll help customers discover the right technology and solutions specific to their needs, consulting around the best way to implement them, optimizing for results when in production, and always ensuring that their success is our priority.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Sales team to answer security, privacy, and compliance requirements from prospects and customers in the UK and Ireland.
  • Take responsibility for leading the security track of the sales cycle including such activities as technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments. Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure.
  • Deliver product messaging to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition using techniques that include whiteboarding and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, and RFI response documents.
  • Work closely with Security and Compliance Specialists in other regions, the Product Management teams, and other field teams worldwide to help shape the roadmap based on customer needs and gaps.
