We need enthusiastic people to provide technical leadership to our customers. 

  

Customer Engineers (CEs) are deep technical advisors who guide Enterprise customers to deliver unique value by removing blockers to consumption within their given Solution Area, in this case, PowerBI & Power Platform Products. CEs provide technical guidance including risk assessments and tuning to operate and optimize a customer’s cloud or on-premises environment. Customer Engineer services can be delivered either remotely or on-premises. 

Responsibilities

The primary focus and responsibility for this role will be to help Microsoft customers in their adoption and governance of cloud services, with emphasis in the following areas: 

Offer best practice guidance and support on costumer design, document, and development of complex MS Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) solutions. 

Work with UX/UI designers to construct wireframes, mock-ups, and in an Agile development process create Power BI Service and Power BI Embedded reports. 

Work closely with our application solution architects, data scientists and data engineering teams to develop BI solutions, enhance and/or define new data integrations and/or modelling efforts. 

Support customers by offering bet practice support for monitoring, troubleshooting and resolve issues for the deployed reporting solutions 

Provide best practice guidance for database development, architecture and data pipeline for customer data engineers and architects 

Support customers to conduct ad-hoc data analysis utilising Power BI, R, Python, Excel, and/or Azure services. 

Stay up to date on all new Power BI features and functionalities and find ways to introduce them to the organisation and customer. 

Strong technical skills in line with platform requirements. Ability to upskill and cross skill to new technologies. 

Ability to document technical information and share knowledge across peers and customers. 

ITIL experience 

Delivery experience in an agile and waterfall environment 

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work within tight timeframes and excellent attention to detail 

BI experience like ETL, Data warehousing management, Data Mining, Report Designer or developer 

Heterogeneous Database Management Systems like Oracle, MySQL, SAP etc. 

Programming language such as C#, DAX, MDX, SQL, Python, R 

Conceptual knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud architecture or any Cloud SaaS experience 

Thorough troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

Excellent communication skills with both written and spoken English 

Ability to work well in a highly collaborative team 

Ability to work well in ambiguous situations 

Passion for constant learning advanced BI, Power Platform and Azure technologies 

Delivery of workshops and proactive engagements with the goal of upskilling customer teams on M365 capabilities and removing blockers to successful implementation. 

Leading organisations to a value realization state based on their PowerBI and or Power Platform investments including alignment between M365 configuration and industry or Government standards. 

Considering security aspects to configuration at all times and helping customer to implement services which are fit to the customers and well balanced in terms of security vs usability. 

Qualifications

We are keen to engage with talented individuals who can demonstrate expertise in a specific solution or several M365 products and lead our customers on their M365 adoption and consumption. We are looking for candidates who are experienced in and keen to learn more about learning the following areas: 

Power BI / Tableau, or similar BI solutions

OLAP/Data warehousing or OLTP/Database

Experienced with SQL & PL/SQL

Experienced with Data Warehousing knowledge

Experienced with Analysis Services

Experienced with Data Factory ETL

Experienced with SSIS/SSRS

Experienced with Visual Studio & GIT

Experienced with PowerShell

Other skills for this position should include: 

An analytical approach to problem solving. 

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, both verbal and written 

Ability to deliver presentations, discuss the products features at a solutions level. 

The ability to manage customer escalations and work under pressure. 

The ability to perform self-directed learning in a rapidly changing environment. 

Capabilities to operate in a flexible team environment with minimal supervision. 

Hold, or be eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
