Customer Engagement Platform Architect - 127681
THE ROLE:
Are you seeking a role where you can be visible, impactful and a part of a growing and exciting team?! AMD is looking for a Platform Architect to drive the architectural definition of premium client products, such as gaming notebooks, working with AMD’s OEM customers, which include areas such as system feature definition, product requirement specifications, performance optimization, power management, and developing use cases.
The person:
Someone who can see the “big picture†of the client product system architecture and how everything fits together. Someone who works and communicates well with people from a wide variety of functional areas within AMD and externally with our OEM/ODM customers and partners.
Key responsibilities:
Primary platform architecture contact point for this product's programs.
Responsible for the system features and capabilities from the SoC to other system components and including the associated software and/or firmware to ensure that the accepted marketing product requirements are met.
Comprehends the premium client products as a complete system which includes HW, FW, BIOS & SW
Validates that the complete system is aligned to enable SOC and system features
Knowledgeable and chips in to the platform architecture and system features.
Ensures that the required Use Cases are achieved
Responsible for any marketing change requests or any changes to the requirements to be negotiated between the BU and the design team to reach a solution that both sides agree.
Responsible for technical accuracy of product disclosures
Is not required to be the specialist in all areas but is tightly linked to the other architects, domain experts and technical leads.
Passion for collaborating and working with both the OEM architects and AMD domain specialists in driving solutions and architecting system features for the premium platforms.
Preferred experience:
Must have 8+years of PC Notebook and/or Desktop experience
Knowledgeable on the architecture of the PC platform for x86 based platforms
Familiar with the interface industry standards specifications defined to improve power manageability
Understand silicon process technologies and the tools to project power & performance of the SOC
Requires System Board Experience
Experience with PC software and hardware
Academic credentials:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
