What You’ll Do
The Customer Analytics Lead supports the delivery of Woolworths’ customer centric strategy through customer and market insights to key decision makers across Woolworths Group. You will be part of a high performing analytics team working on a diverse range of business problems and will make a direct impact on cultivating a customer first and data driven decision making culture. 
Your strong stakeholder management skills will see you effectively engaging with stakeholders across all levels, manage competing priorities on a regular basis and work with business teams to optimise the use of the team's resources for the best business outcomes. This highly-visible role will be an opportunity for you to continually improve insight generation and make a positive impact on quality of experience to Woolworths’s customers.
Your key responsibilities include:  

  • Developing business relationships that create tangible value through delivery of insights to inform decisions and recommendations for improving business performance
  • Leading structured problem solving and support the business to become more forward-thinking to drive actions and data-led decision-making into the business
  • Championing agile ways of working and values including providing guidance and continuously improving based on team feedback and outcomes
  • Examining customer behaviour using internal & external datasets to design and develop meaningful recommendations for teams
  • Contribute to the formation and growth of Q-Retail through team and business capability development, internal knowledge sharing as well as general industry expertise through identification of emerging themes, problems, and opportunities


About You
You are a leader with a rounded balance of technical and influencing skills. Your technical background sees you with a strong quantitative and qualitative background with experience working with large datasets and solving tough problems and you are able to see issues from multiple angles. Your ability to influence allows you to impact and inspire, as well as adapt your approach to connect with, respond to and persuade a broad variety of stakeholders and team. Being a self-starter, with a bias towards action and attention to detail, sees you passionate about being able to turn information into actionable insights. 
Key skills & qualifications include:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in a quantitative field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Finance/Economics, Statistics or Mathematics).
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills including, business and functional requirements, management level presentations and proposals, and ability to influence. 
  • Ability to build insightful and engaging presentations for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of retail including category management or marketing strategy; including how data and analytics is utilised by retailers and suppliers.
  • Experience with Data Visualisation (Tableau or PowerBi) and/or with SQL (PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server) is required. Experience in Python is preferred.
  • Experience with GCP and Big Query. 
  • Proficiency in G-Suite applications (i.e. Slides, sheets) is required. 
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Functions, VBA) is prefered.
