What you’ll do to be successful in this role… • Analyze and assess new customer accounts’ credit worthiness using financial information including credit reports and trade references • Maintain customer accounts including updating credit limit and terms and conditions • Review account orders that are past due and/or exceed credit limit with sound judgement • Process reconciliation of accounts and deductions by reviewing, inputting and verifying the accuracy of given information • Monitor customer accounts to ensure they run within the assigned line of credit and adjust the lines accordingly • Report delinquent accounts to the Sales Team and assist with resolving customer issues • Contact accounts on overdue balances and negotiate payment plans when accounts fail to meet terms • Forward delinquent accounts to the collection agency when payments are not received • Assist in other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring… • 2 years’ experience in collections or in a similar role. Experience dealing with delinquent accounts in a fast-paced environment is preferred • Post-secondary education in either accounting or business-related studies is required. CPP designation is considered an asset • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft. Excel. SAP knowledge is an asset • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with delinquent customer accounts, utilizing discretion, tact and firmness • Demonstrated ability to prevent, analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment • Strong financial acumen with proven data analysis and effective time management skills • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple fast-moving customer accounts concurrently within strict deadlines and budget constraints • Structured independent thinker with ability to work as part of a global team • Polished and upbeat professional presentation • Indisputable integrity as well as credibility and demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others • Strong work ethic with proven ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude in an entrepreneurial environment is required
