CPU Performance Modeler Engineer - 122161

 

The Role:

You will join AMD's Core Performance Modeling team based in Austin, TX.This opportunity will participate in the performance modeling, analysis, and microarchitecture development of AMD's future core designs. This position will provide the chance to work across key groups within an Enterprise environment to help develop cutting edge High Performance CPU technology!

The Person:

We are looking for someone who is motivated with the opportunity to provide creative solutions to challenging problems. The individual should have a depth of experience in CPU Performance Modeling, Microarchitecture and C++ programming.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include:

  • Cycle-accurate core microarchitecture performance simulator development
  • workload and trace analysis
  • microarchitecture development
  • RTL vs performance model correlation, and/or post-silicon performance analysis.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong computer architecture background through work experience.
  • Strong C++ programming and scripting language capabilities.
  • Experience with cycle-accurate microarchitecture performance simulator development.
  • Experience with pre-silicon performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with memory controllers or other system components.
  • Familiarity with details of computing software, including operating systems, compilers, and applications.
  • Candidate should be creative, self-motivated, and must work comfortably in a cross-site team environment.

Academic Credentials:

  • MS or PhD in CS/EE preferred
