Role Overview:
Citi Belfast Legal have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Counsel to join our Treasury Trade Solutions (TTS) department. The successful candidate will be based in Belfast and will support the TTS Core Case business.
This role will involve working closely with internal clients as well as Sales, Relationship, Product Managers and Citi Legal Counsel in reviewing and analysing legal documentation in the TTS Core Cash business.
Responsibilities:
Negotiating/reviewing legal agreements with internal/external customers to reach agreement on the contents of the Bank’s legal documentation
Close liaison with internal businesses and other Legal teams across the globe in connection with the negotiation of legal agreements for the TTS Core Cash business.
Production of amended agreements for the counterparty/customer’s execution.
Building relationships around the network with legal counsels and business contacts
Work closely with Sales and Product to manage customer expectations and support a positive client experience
Understand documentation requirements for the TTS business
Advising Risk and relationship on potential legal risks involved in changing documentation.
Ensuring Citibank’s and regulatory policies are maintained, and where deviations are necessary, ensuring appropriate risk and / or business approval is obtained.
Maintain accurate status reports on negotiation developments.
To exercise best practice in documentation management and to assist in developing an archive of precedent negotiated documents.
Qualifications:
Qualified Solicitor
Banking/financial industry experience or experience working at a large law firm preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and practices
Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Proven analytical and organizational skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
