Description

Robert Half is currently working with a high growth client in the food processing sector seeking a Cost Accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. What you get to do every single day

- Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory

- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation

- Abide by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

- Analyze costs and recommend cost savings

- Make calculations of new and proposed product costs

- Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

- Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants

- Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost

- Generate and complete internal cost audits

- Log a detailed record of collected data

- Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

- Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs

- Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

Requirements

- minimum of 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

- High attention to detail

- Experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

- Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills

- Knowledge of organizational accounting concepts

- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
