Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience providing infrastructure solutions for internal customers
  • Experience designing, developing, and/or troubleshooting Linux, OS X, Windows, networking, mobile, video conferencing, and/or voice technologies

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows, Unix, networking, scripting and automation, and/or application troubleshooting
  • Experience with IT infrastructure
  • Experience with IT change management best practices
  • Experience in an organized problem-solving approach and ownership of projects and tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot, adjust quickly to changing priorities, and make progress in ambiguous and uncertain environments
  • Excellent customer service, organization, prioritization, multitasking, communication, and leadership skills

About the job

Technical support for a technology company is a big task. As the Corporate Operations Engineer within the IT Support Technician team, your mission is to enable the people and technology that keep Google running. Your team provides the front line user support for all of our internal tools and technologies. Beyond the day-to-day, the team will contribute to longer-term technical projects, process improvement and the documentation efforts that help make the Google magic happen.

In this role, you will be the point of contact for Googlers' computer hardware and software needs. You'll troubleshoot, respond to inquiries, and find solutions to technical challenges.

You will partner with various teams, including Security, Networking, and Infrastructure. You'll improve the user experience by providing on-demand user support for Google's corporate users, resources, tools, and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and problem solve complex issues spanning multiple systems and teams as they relate to corporate IT initiatives, including designing systems or services.
  • Partner with internal service owners and teams to evaluate technical data, create recommendations, obtain consensus, and plan and execute service upgrades and changes.
  • Automate and/or execute IT infrastructure-related projects such as platform migrations and information security policy updates.
  • Develop tools and solutions to increase the operational efficiency of the IT change management process with focus on excellent user journeys or experiences.
  • Innovate and design internal solutions that allow us to scale.
