About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-performing Corporate Insurance Team based in Bristol. In this role you will have responsibility for ensuring that BT does not take on too much risk and has the suitable protection balanced against costs.

You will ensure BT can recover in full when it suffers a loss.

You will assist BT in managing operational risk to help reduce claims and assist our Customer Facing Units (CFUs) to understand associated insurable risk.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Accountable for delivering and shaping the Insurance Programmes under control to deliver the Team's strategy and goals

Manage the claims management process for the Insurance Programmes under control including any self-insured retention

Analysing the insurance data to work collaboratively with other BT functions to identify what good looks like in terms of loss rates and assist BT to become best in class by identifying risk management strategies 

Close engagement with various stakeholders to appreciate all material activities and plans which could impact the Insurance Programmes

Carry out regular reviews of the market to ensure the programmes remain best in class

Manage relationships with brokers, insurers and other service providers

Manage budget and accruals in accordance with overall strategy

Work with the wider Insurance Team to share knowledge and provide input into overall strategy and development of internal reporting and systems

You'll have the following skills & experience

Extensive experience in a global corporate handling general insurance and motor insurance

Technical insurance and claims handling skills and understanding of the changing risks in the underlying insurance markets

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance 

Experience in the insurance market either with a broker or insurer
