Description

Our South Surrey distribution client is seeking a Controller to join their busy team. Reporting to the President and overseeing a team of 5-6 , the Controller will be responsible for the following:

- Prepare and present financial reports to key shareholders of the company

- Oversees the preparation of all financial reports for internal purposes and government regulatory agencies

- Develop, implement & manage financial strategies, monitor, and forecast cash balances

- Analyze variances across balance sheet and income statement accounts

- Develop and implement policies/procedures to ensure efficiency, internal control, and compliance with regulatory requirements

- Prepare and submit all required government filings (GST returns, annual returns, etc)

- Lead, manage and oversee accounting and administration staff (5-6 employees)

- Supervise and train staff to ensure company objectives are met

- Complete the payroll function via Payworks

- Complete month end closing and applicable reconciliations of monthly financial statements

- Liaise between the bank, external accountants as well as other stakeholders

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be:

- CPA designated or have solid relevant experience

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance preferred

- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in Accounting

- Good understanding and previous experience ERP systems (Adagio preferred)

- Strong business and strategic acumen, technical and communication skills

- Expert Excel skills and knowledge of MS office products

- Experience with SAP Concur is an asset
