Sydney Project Delivery is the project delivery arm of TfNSW for the Greater Sydney Area and is responsible for delivery of all non-rail and precinct based projects in Greater Sydney. The value of work SPD is delivering is over AUD$30 billion, including large and complex projects such as The Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) and Warringah Freeway Upgrade (WFU) and portfolio offices of Western Sydney, Eastern Sydney and Central and Southern Sydney.
The opportunity
Right now, we have multiple permanent and fixed-term full-time site based opportunities for Contracts Administrators to join our Sydney Project Delivery (SPD) Commercial Services Team locations within Infrastructure and Place division.
We have opportunities across The Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) and Warringah Freeway Upgrade (WFU). This project is a major transport infrastructure project that will make it easier, faster and safer to get around Sydney. By creating a western bypass of the Sydney CBD. We also have roles across The Western Sydney Portfolio Office and The Eastern Sydney Portfolio Office managing projects including maritime wharf upgrades and WestConnex projects.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager or the Senior Contracts Administrator, the Contracts Administrator is responsible for the effective administration of allocated construction contracts, including assessing, administering and recommending authorisation of payments, maintaining contract databases, undertaking issues management and resolution, and ensuring compliance with respective contract requirements including drafting, responding and keeping track to contractual correspondence.
This role provides advice, support and best practice commercial administration to our business partners throughout project delivery including:
Collection and compilation of contractual data required for reporting;
Administering payment of progress claims
Assisting in assessing variation and other contractual claims
Assisting in monitoring contractor’s program of works
Correct and prompt obtainment of approvals
Correct and proficient use of contract management systems and processes;
expert advice on contract conditions and administration to project teams to support informed decision making and improve future contract outcomes.

About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, has an eye for detail, role models collegiate and collaborative behaviours and communicates clearly, actively listens to others, and responds with understanding and respect. You will have the ability and integrity to work independently whilst maintaining a high level of work ethic and quality with a strong ability to learn and improve. You thrive under pressure, committed to timely delivery of expected outcomes and are energised by the challenges presented in our complex and ever-changing work environment.
You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated experience in contract administration in infrastructure projects including ability in assessing contractor’s program of works, ability to interpret design drawings combined with construction and engineering knowledge, including providing support, managing systems, and reporting on contracts and be able to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment.
Salary and Benefits
