Job Description

You’ll design, write, manage and deliver high-quality content for our digital channels. As a key member of the UX/UI team, you’ll be designing content for everything from concepts and prototypes through to new products and services on one of the UK’s most visited websites. You’ll be hands-on, used to working in an agile environment and enjoy the challenge and opportunity to put user-centred content at the core of our digital services. 

You’ll have a track record of delivering content that meets user needs and is accessible, engaging and understandable to a diverse range of people. Establishing this new capability within TalkTalk, you’ll be a passionate human-centred design practitioner, who can drive content quality and delivery through highly collaborative ways of working. 

The team

You’ll play a key role in the UX/UI team, working closely with the designers and researchers to create great content.

You’ll be an important member of the wider CX community of practice at TalkTalk. Working closely with our brand team, external agencies, partners and internal teams, you’ll help ensure that content is customer oriented, usable and effective in helping our customers to achieve their goals.

As part of the wider Marketing team, you’ll be surrounded by innovative and creative thinkers and great leadership.

Accountability, ownership, authority

  • Responsible for the management and creation of content across multiple squads.
  • Work with Designers, Researchers and Product Owners to deliver content that is consistent, engaging and accessible and meets user needs.
  • Work within the brand parameters, ensuring we evolve our guidelines for what will work best online.
  • Create and continually update content in the Design System and be the UX/UI team guardian of the tone of voice.
  • Set plans and prioritise content delivery to hit project deadlines.
  • Test content with users to make sure the right content is shown in the right place and best format.
  • Create thorough documentation within the Design System to ensure the components are created and build correctly.
  • Be the go-to point for content guidance and best practice inside and outside the team.
  • Set standards, principles and guidelines for content to enable self-service. 
  • Establish a content-first design process within the design and delivery teams that balances business and user needs.  
  • Manage content tooling and documentation to drive efficiency, quality, reuse and consistency. 
  • Use data to create and optimise content using analytics, insights and usability testing. 
  • Help increase content maturity through advocacy, training and outreach activities. 
  • Continually audit the digital estate to assure and proactively build a pipeline of work. 
  • Create a Content strategy and plans / roadmap to implement it.
  • Support SEO team with new pages, ad-hoc copy changes to current pages and Digital PR Campaign copy

We are looking for:

  • You have experience of writing, editing and publishing user-centred content for digital audiences. 
  • Working knowledge of the tools, processes and procedures needed to design, develop and deliver great content.
  • Effective communicator to build advocacy. 
  • Proactive approach to content management with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Experience of using analytics to inform and track activity – e.g. Google Analytics.
  • An ability to plan for the long term, prioritise actions and remain flexible to ensure all projects and day to day business requirements can be met.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Proven experience of agile working, comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic team.
  • Able to create prototypes to help visualise your work.
  • You can communicate with stakeholders clearly and regularly and influence them to achieve desired outcomes.
