The Bank of England has embarked on an ambitious transformation program to overhaul the way we collect and use financial data.

This program will help support our analysts in shaping the UK economy by designing effective policy, identifying risks and taking preventative action in a timely manner. 

For this strategic endeavour we need great people to help us to get it right.

Situated within a traditional business, we operate with a start up mentality. Our transformation program is founded on a service design approach, addressing end-to-end journeys which cut across multiple services, institutions, digital systems and offline processes.

About the Role:

As a content designer you’ll be joining a newly established service design practice in the bank. You can expect to work on multiple work-streams, connecting insights with design solutions during discovery, definition and delivery.

You will be supported by a friendly multi-disciplinary team of UCD practitioners and subject matter experts from the bank and from industry.

Your experience and capability:

• Previous industry experience as a content designer across a number of working environments
• Experience working in an agile team
• Coherent, effective and precise communication
• Conducting content audits and making recommendations
• Confident in using evidence, data and research to make content decisions
• Experience with user testing content
• Solid capability in structuring large amounts of content
• Experience formatting content for different contexts (e.g. instructional vs marketing)
• Experience with a range of tools and methods, knowing when to use which

• Experience working with complex data services
• Experience working in a highly regulated industry

This specific role offers a base salary of Ã‚£36,000 - £41,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience, along with our comprehensive benefits package as follows:

•    A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
•    A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
•    A 7% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
•    25 days annual leave with option to buy up to 13 additional days through flexible benefits.
