Description

Great opportunity for a Compensation Manager! This role reports directly to the Director of People Services and works closely with the HR Business Partners and the HR Leadership team. This position will be responsible for the lead, design, and implementation of compensation strategy and providing support to ensure compliance with government regulations and reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

- Initiates and participates in the hiring, orientation, development, promotion, discipline and

termination of Compensation staff according to established policies and consistent

with collective agreement provisions.

- Supervises and provides leadership to staff by coaching, guiding, and modeling key

behaviors/strategies, encouraging dialogue, and providing guidance and advice to facilitate

resolutions to work issues. Sets performance goals and objectives for staff, and monitors and

assesses performance.

- Participates in the completion and analysis of relevant compensation market surveys.

Conducts job comparison research for individual positions or groups of positions, in both public

and private sector organizations. Makes decisions regarding the selection of internal and

external comparator positions in the process of evaluating jobs.

- Contributes to effective employee and labor relations by administering the collective

agreement(s), representing management in the grievance process, and consulting with the

Labour Relations team regarding collective agreement interpretation, as appropriate. Provides

input to management negotiating team for collective bargaining purposes, as needed.


Requirements

Requirements:

- Must have a minimum of 3+ years in an HR Leadership role with compensation experience

- Must have multi-union experience

- Strong financial and analytical experience

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)

- Self-starter that thrives in a dynamic and action-packed environment

- Great communication skills and interpersonal skills
