Job Description

THE ROLE
We believe that a brand is not its logo, its product or its name - it is its reputation among its network of people, its sub-communities of customers, ambassadors, employees and how it interacts and creates value and meaningful experiences for every individual within them. By providing them with a remarkable experience we can turn them into advocates, and it’s this advocacy that will grow the company. The way we grow Duel is no different. We don’t have a conventional sales team, and instead, use the power of brand and community building to solve people’s problems and drive authentic demand, and you’ll play a key role in nurturing and growing this network.

Forming the beginnings of our new North America team, you’ll be at the heart of building Duel’s presence on the other side of the pond. Reporting directly to our Head of North America, you’ll be on the frontlines, the vanguard pioneering an entirely new continent and connecting with some of the biggest, most impressive brands in the world to educate them on the power of Brand Advocacy.

Your role will be to identify, engage and nurture prospective clients and brand builders all over the USA and Canada. Through your ability to gain a deep understanding of who a brand is and what they're trying to achieve, you will become the facilitator of building connections and remarkable experiences.

On a guided training program, you'll learn everything you need to know to become a Brand and Community expert, with the potential of owning your own community territory as we continue to expand and grow.

  • Lead Generation
    • Sourcing and building a network of incredible brand builders through email, LinkedIn and other channels

    • Networking, opening doors and developing relationships with potential contacts

    • Recognising potential product opportunities and passing leads on to our Brand Advocacy Consultants

  • Community Building
    • Supporting the wider Brand and Community team to populate events and other community initiatives

    • Working collaboratively with the Brand & Community Team to ensure the community is thriving with contacts and content

    • Maintaining relationships with brand builders in your network - keeping your finger on the pulse and their needs top of mind

  • Discovery Calls
    • Holding discovery calls with brands to help educate them on the various offerings of the Duel community, working out the best course of action for the support we can offer, as well as connecting them with other brand builders who can support them on their own personal and professional journey.

  • CRM
    • Using our CRM (HubSpot) to track all your conversations so you never lose sight of the brands in our community

  • Market and Industry
    • Having a passion for the brand and retail industry: how it works, who fits in it and how to navigate it

THE PERSON

As a founding member of a team, along with the below, the perfect person for the role will be comfortable with uncertainty. Entrepreneurial, positive and motivated - you won’t be easily deterred by changing plans or strategies and will be invested in the journey of establishing a core function of the business.

  • Personable, empathetic and genuine – you are the kind of person who has a hunger to learn all about someone when you meet them. You ask questions and you genuinely have an interest in the answers.

  • Hustle - You are passionate about meeting and exceeding targets every single day, and you understand that your output reflects on your success

  • An entrepreneurial mindset - the idea of building something remarkable is what drives you

  • You’re the beating heart of every organization you’ve been in. You thrive off meeting new people and growing your personal network (both online and offline).

  • You innately understand the power of a thriving community and probably have your own - your IG/ WhatsApp/LinkedIn is a black book of people who gravitate around you

  • Tech-savvy with a love for technology – comfortable picking up new tools on-the-fly

  • You are passionate about the things you love. These may include hobbies, sports, social events, music…what gets you excited?

EXPERIENCE

  • Specific experience certainly helps, but it isn’t required for this role - If you have the desire and drive to learn, grow and build, this could be the perfect fit for you

  • Backgrounds in retail, community, sales or other customer-facing roles are relevant but not required for this position!

  • Toronto Based - must have the right to work in Canada
