The Opportunity

We have a unique temporary opportunity, for up to 24 months, for a Communications & Engagement Officer to join our People Communications & Engagement branch.
 

You will support Corporate Communications (Greater Sydney) to deliver its communication strategy and plans which enable Transport to achieve its projects and change objectives.
 

The Corporate Communications team: this position plays a pivotal part in ensuring specific key programs across Transport are effectively explained, promoted and managed by creating engaging, meaningful content for use across a number of communication channels. In this role you will have a direct impact on making the experience of people at Transport a positive one and fulfilling Transport’s cultural aspiration of keeping people at the heart.  

This role will work closely with business areas leading the projects we support both throughout Greater Sydney and across People and Culture.  The preferred candidate will work closely across multiple teams and support key internal business managers and leaders to ensure an integrated approach in identifying opportunities and embedding our organisational commitments.

About you  

• You have strong written communication skills which allow you to support the development of communications and engagement plans and engaging creative assets including written content, presentations, social media content, website content and assisting with video production
• You have a creative eye and are comfortable designing fresh, cutting-edge digital content solutions that inspire, inform, and captivate key audience groups Proficient in web-based communications channels and the creation of high quality, professional publications
• With an understanding of digital marketing, you keep across all the latest platform trends and look for opportunities to embrace social content
• Experienced in gathering and analysing communication metrics and make recommendations based on this information
• You will be comfortable making judgements and recommendations regarding the best strategies and channels to maximise the visibility and effectiveness of messaging
• You are comfortable managing and prioritising a high volume of requests as well as managing various expectations from multiple internal stakeholders at the same time while tailoring approaches to the specific audiences
• You have the ability to quickly establish strong relationships with business partners and key stakeholders to support the successful delivery of communications plans and provide guidance on best practices for communications content and collateral
• A team player who is also comfortable working autonomously when required
• Experience or skills in videography, editing and the creation of video content would be advantageous
• You have Tertiary qualifications in communications (or relevant discipline) or equivalent experience
