A great position for a commercial paralegal within the Legal Operations – Commercial team supporting Senior Counsel and Counsel in respect of a range of commercial work including:
What will you be doing?
provide accurate, timely and constructive solution-orientated legal advice to support stakeholder objectives in a manner that minimises avoidable liabilities
develop and maintain a strong relationship with key stakeholders, particularly in the Supply Chain, Fibre Networks (wayleaves) and Property teams to help them achieve their strategic goals
undertake company secretarial work for Vodafone UK subsidiary companies and coordinate with Vodafone Group CoSec on company secretarial activity where required
drafting and negotiating NDAs and a range of other commercial contracts (supervised where appropriate)
providing advice and support for in-life contract queries from stakeholders
procure property legal advice from external law firms and provide support to UK property and technology functions with property related matters
handling contractual negotiations in a professional way that manages risk for Vodafone
ensuring that issues are resolved resulting in ‘simply brilliant’ service
collaborating effectively with other parts of the Legal Operations Team (i.e. Employment and Disputes), the wider legal team (i.e. Consumer, Privacy and Enterprise) and Corporate Security Teams
keeping contract templates and internal briefing notes up-to-date, assisting with ongoing contractual training and the maintenance of stakeholder facing internal websites and self-service commercial legal resources
supporting Vodafone UK company secretarial activities, including ensuring company filing obligations and Group internal secretarial audit requirements are met, as well as supporting Senior Counsel with corporate governance matters and board meetings
Who are we looking for?
University honours degrees (second class or better)
Experience of working in an in-house environment (desirable but not essential)
Good understanding of telecoms (desirable but not essential)
Sound commercial judgement; ability to identify and highlight risk
Ability to manage multiple work streams, meet deadlines and work under pressure
Able to take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion
Able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Good drafting, negotiating and influencing skills
Strong interpersonal skills and good at relationship management
