What’s the role about?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager role within John Lewis Financial Services, Home Insurance team. 

As a Commercial Manager you will play a key role in product and process development, through accurate data analysis and recommendations to senior management. You will support the delivery and ambitions of the multi-channel commercial strategy, working with Third Party providers and internal Professions. Managing elements of the product life-cycle to deliver maximum customer value in line with the strategy and operational plan.

Proven experience in home insurance is desirable.

What will you be doing?

You will - 

• Manage product specific planning and performance reporting to ensure trading performance is understood and actions prioritised with a clear focus on intra-week reporting

• Leverage insight and internal and external networks to keep abreast of key customer requirements, market conditions and trends, including technological advancements

• Analyse and deliver product developments to maximise value and customer satisfaction through New Business and In Life activity

• Manage and deliver projects as assigned by the Senior Commercial Manager ensuring delivery in line with the critical path

• Undertake analysis and deliver recommendations for product enhancements which drive competitive position, customer satisfaction and profit based on sound industry and market research

• Responsible for compliance with John Lewis policies & procedures within the legal and regulatory framework.

What you'll have - 

• Experience of data analysis and ability to turn data/information from various sources, both external and internal, into actionable insight

• Proven experience of communicating complex messages, simply to internal and external stakeholders in both written and verbal forms

• Enthusiasm to learn and contribute to a strategically important growth area, including proactive approach to investigate performance variances

• Financial Services Product Management experience

• Experience of working within a complex matrixed environment

• Proficiency in Google suite / MS Office. 

• Demonstrable experience within Home Insurance or Insurance sector would be highly desirable

What else could you bring? 

• Negotiation and influencing skills - GAP certification

• Experience of developing data dashboards with BI Tools.

• Experience of Agile development practices
