Commercial Finance Business Partner - 6 month FTC

The Finance Business Partnering team (also known as Finance and Strategy) enables execution of business strategy as trusted partners to country and functional teams on strategic & financial matters. We aim to build long term company value, and we achieve this by influencing company strategy, facilitating world-class execution, understanding, and sharing the drivers of our business, delivering financial results, all while managing risks and capitalising on opportunities. We also provide support to our new business initiatives and this role is a great opportunity to help incubate one of the most innovative plays in the company and in the Food Industry. 

Role

Plan and provide reporting on the financial performance of our Cloud Kitchens also known as Editions with a focus on site operations. You will work with business stakeholders to drive monthly reporting which is timely and accurate and provide financial control and oversight of the operations through the spend approval processes. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building and setting up the financial capabilities for a new business unit and who can closely work with a wide range of stakeholders from site operators to senior management.

The job will involve:

• Reporting: Full ownership and accountability of the reporting, preparation and analysis of the global site operating costs and other fixed costs from preparing adjustments to holding reviews with senior stakeholders. Building of reporting files from scratch.
• Planning: You will be key in steering how we build this business unit by working with the teams to build annual and quarterly financial plans at a site, country, and business unit level. 
• Financial control: You will provide oversight on spend as a key member of the financial approval processes.
• Business partnering: You will be the go-to-person on anything Finance related for Editions interfacing with the Editions teams at all levels, the leadership team and the broader Deliveroo team on anything Editions Finance related.  
• Process improvement: You will need to build and improve current reporting processes, so they are fit for purpose. You need to have the vision of what good looks like and be able to get stuck in and get us there.

Requirements

• 4+ yrs in a commercial finance or financial reporting role (incl. FP&A)
• Prior ownership of either an entire P&L or parts of a P&L with a focus on costs
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills 
• Financial modelling experience
• Fast learner, adaptable and proactive. You need to hit the ground running and be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• The ability to dig into the detail of existing models to understand how they work, run with them, and improve them
• Experience business partnering with manufacturing/retail/restaurant or heavily operational businesses
• Clear communicator with experience influencing senior stakeholders
• Not afraid to get stuck in and do manual tasks
• Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
