About this role

The Commercial and Proposition Development Manager will have dual focus to drive short and long term opportunities for Openreach by creating compelling propositions as well as coordinate activities across several of Openreach’s key customer accounts to ensure consistency in approach, providing executive level status and issue tracking and coordinate resolution of issues. The role holder will need to be highly effective at analysing and interpreting data to drive and own major business cases and have strong influencing abilities with peers in cross-functional teams as well as Director-level management using strong verbal and powerpoint communication skills.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Drive execution and success of a complex propositions. Conduct regular commercial reviews and ensure the business cases are up-to-date with latest insights and assumptions.

• Create new propositions and be able to develop business cases in support of the proposition via effective commercial and communication skills

• Support in continuously managing a pipeline of opportunities that support the short and long terms growth objectives.

• Account management engagement - Taking a critical approach across our key customer accounts, ensuring consistent and robust messaging, driving common goals and executing upon them. Both, on day-to-day management and more strategic interaction points.

• Account management support – support key account managers in co-ordinating activity, providing executive level status and issue tracking. Executing on development of collateral and materials to ensure high quality messaging with customers.

• Optimise the success of new initiatives through clear understanding of the key drivers that impact any opportunity – customers, legal / regulatory, operational and business performance.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Previous experience of end to end management of business cases and commercial pipeline opportunities.

• Establishing and developing relationships and networks across the organisation or with customers, and working collaboratively to achieve goals.

• Demonstrates expert insight about their market segment and clear understanding of the key drivers that impact any opportunity- customers, legal/regulatory, operational and business performance.

• Highly effective at analysing and interpreting data.

• Demonstration of influence and stakeholder management.

• Evidence of structured organisational skills with the ability to adapt your plans to deal with ambiguity or change.

• Ability to operate in a high pressure/high visibility fast paced situation. Evidence should be provided of your approach to dealing with similar situations.

• Strong commercial acumen, financial and analytical skills, proven ability to create complex propositions 

• Customer focus, a passion for doing what’s right for the customer and the drive to go beyond the status quo to deliver for them

• Influencing skills, able to influence key internal and external stakeholders, including commercial and product directors, via superior communications skills in order to drive the change agenda for the business

• Highly collaborative, able to deliver within a virtual team, and work as a trusted partner with customers

• Communication skills, communicates clearly the strategic goals and direction and motivates cross-functional teams to deliver

• Resilient under pressure, ability to work in a high pressure environment with the personal resilience to respond to exec level and customer asks and issues
