Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Analyst for this 9 month Fixed Term  to join our Mining Oil and Gas group for our Global Logistics Division, based in Karawatha, Brisbane.

This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a leader Logistics and Supply Chain and demonstrate your value add. This role will support the East Coast Commercial Manager providing clear, accurate and detailed analytical reviews of the East Coast operations. With a business as large as ours, there may be further opportunity for extension or a permanent position at the end of thios contract for the right person.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering with the Commercial; Finance; GMs; Regional Managers & Site based operations management
  • Participation in the month end P&L process, including review of P&Ls for accuracy and writing monthly performance commentaries
  • Gathering, validating and documenting business requirements and reporting them back to internal stakeholders
  • Provide customer facing reporting including regular business performance reports, preparation of invoicing, preparation of meeting minutes etc
  • Develop sound and accurate cost/financial models generating IRR evaluations, What if, scenario and sensitivity analysis etc
  • Analysing commercial data such as budgets, sales results and forecasts
  • Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts
  • Estimating costs and identifying business savings​
  • Provide analysis to management and business units to make informed decisions aimed at maximising profitability for a given level of risk

 

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in commerce, business or a related field
  • Enrolled or Part qualified towards completion of completed CPA or CA
  • Able to think logically to solve complex problems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Sound accounting knowledge and internal controls capability
  • Excellent analytical capability and sound commercial acumen
  • Oil and Gas / Logistics Industry experience
