Cloud Workloads Performance Engineer/Architect – AWS, Azure, Google etc.
The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure and Solution Performance Engineer/Architect for Cloud Solutions and Performance Benchmarks driving the adoption of AMD EPYC technologies by the MDCSs/Cloud Service Providers like AWS, Azure etc..

Job Responsibilities:
In this role you will play a technical subject matter expert and will be an integral part of the Software Ecosystem and Application Engineering team, working closely with Cloud vendors and MDCs.
You will champion the optimization of application workloads by working with ISVs for best practices and running on the optimally configured AMD-based infrastructure in the cloud.
You will optimize performance of various software components like operating systems, containers, databases, analytics and other ISV apps. on the AMD-powered cloud instances to enable Cloud First customers to use AMD-powered Clouds.
You are the technical lead for optimizing advanced AMD technology differentiators for a broad range of applications benchmarks running on clouds including business analytics, relational and non-relational databases, internet of things, machine learning and artificial intelligence for the edge, datacenter and cloud environments.
Preferred Experience
Significant hands-on expertise in optimizing and running SW workloads and benchmarks tuning for x86 CPU server with Memory configuration and storage sub systems. Experience with workloads performance testing on Intel/AMD-powered Clouds such as AWS, Azure, Google and others.
Experience in running performance tools like SPEC, TPCC etc. for optimizing running of workloads on the clouds
Deep knowledge of cloud services and deploying/testing workloads on AWS, Azure and other cloud-based IaaS or PaaS
Experience in creating optimal infrastructure configurations and optimization best practices or recommendations for various workload types on various infrastructure environments – on-premise and Clouds.  
Technical issue management and product engineering feedback and influencer to for making AMD technology better
Deep understanding of different software stacks including OS, DB technologies run on the clouds and ability to interpret benchmark results to applications tuning to all the way to AMD EPYC CPU level.
Significant experience in cloud native applications, workload optimization, automation programming models to automate running perf tests
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing white papers, interacting with customers, partners and representing AMD technology to the cloud vendors
Ex-Intel and ex-cloud infra experience is preferred
Academic Credentials
Min BS or MS in computer science(preferred), computer engineering, or a related technical field
LOCATION: This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.(preferred) or Austin, TX
