Want to do the best work of your life? With 24 million customers in 6 countries, make your mark at Europe’s leading media and entertainment brand. A workplace where you can proudly be yourself; our people make Sky a truly exciting and inclusive place to work.

We are currently seeking a top performing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Automation Engineer to join our rapidly growing Cloud Centre of Excellence and work on the transformation of our Infrastructure and its delivery.

Cloud Automation Engineers should have knowledge of automating Infrastructure creation, deployment and management in private, public and hybrid cloud models. You will have an excellent understanding of automating Infrastructure within AWS and GCP (and ideally also Azure, but this isn’t essential) using Terraform and Concourse CI as well as proficiency in Python and/or JSON. You will have a hands-on approach and be able to work from high-level architecture to detailed design and implementation using DevOps and SRE approaches.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation tooling (mainly Concourse CI and Terraform) across Sky’s AWS, Azure and GCP portfolio
• Deliver automation and orchestration of business and technology workflows across Sky’s cloud estate using IaC and Automation tooling
• Contribute to creation of the Cloud Engineering roadmap, specifically for the application of Artificial Intelligence and Automation to Infrastructure management
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies, services and tools for innovative new capabilities
• Provide and deliver Proof of Concept (PoC) activities for Infrastructure automation tools and approaches, building these out to full Production services as required
• Build relationships & collaborate across Sky to establish and implement consistent approaches and application of automation technologies to cloud based Infrastructure

What you’ll bring:

• Extensive experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Concourse CI in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments
• Significant experience in the design and automated delivery of highly available and resilient technology Infrastructure for bare metal, virtualized, containerized and Cloud Native solutions
• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language used for Infrastructure automation (e.g., JSON, Python, etc.…)
• Robust understanding of DevOps and SRE approaches and methodologies and using DevOps tooling (e.g., Git, Jira etc.) to create software artefacts and IaC solutions
• Intellectual curiosity and an inquiring mind – you will seek out new approaches, ideas and opportunities and be able to demonstrate a track record of doing so to bring about positive change
• Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills

The Rewards:

• Access a wide range of exclusive Sky VIP rewards and experience

Where you’ll work:

Osterley:

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed and even get pampered at our beauty salon.

Inclusion:

We take pride in our approach to diversity and inclusion: we’ve been recognised by The Times and Stonewall for this, and we’ve committed £30million to support the fight against racial injustice. We’ve also set ambitious targets for increasing ethnic diversity and representation throughout our organisation.

At Sky we don’t just look at your CV. We’re more focused on who you are and your potential. We also know that everyone has a life outside work, so we’re open to discussing where and when you do your job, as long as we can balance your needs with those of our customers.

Just so you know: if your application is successful, we’ll ask you to complete a criminal record check. And depending on the role you have applied for and the nature of any convictions you may have, we might have to withdraw the offer.
