What you'll be doing
The Finance Officer is responsible for providing advice, oversight and guidance for Research cost centres to ensure the efficient, effective and sustainable function of all research financial activities.
How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent, and extensive experience in accounting or finance including detailed knowledge managing budgets, preparing journals, invoicing, receipting and accruals
Highly computer literate with demonstrated proficiency in financial software such as Oracle R12, iProcurement (requisitions/purchase orders/check payments), Oracle Finance, SMRS, Microsoft Office suite and eCTRA or similar software
Effective communication skills, including experience building and maintaining relationships and liaising and influencing a broad range of staff and stakeholders to ensure adoption of new processes and compliance with policies
Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a demonstrated capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach
Experience in the analysis and interpretation of financial transactions with the ability to manage sensitive financial matters including the preparation of complex correspondence and reports while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
Demonstrated experience in prioritising own workload, meeting deadlines including meeting monthly/quarterly and annual reporting targets
Proven capacity to maintain complex financial accounting systems through efficient and effective utilisation of available resources
