About this role

The role of a Capacity & Availability Professional is to contribute to the delivery of the the live Service area in their discipline, delivering a service that is commercially viable to BT and adds value to its customers. You will be responsible for working with customers to ensure that services are protected and service levels are maintained, to protect brand and reputation for both BT and the Customer.

The role will work within the customer technologies and across all levels of security clearance in compliance with contractual and governance requirements. The successful applicant will work on multiple program delivery services within BT and the Customer including delivery of increased revenue opportunity to the business. Without this role we would be unable to meet our contractual obligations, and BT would be at risk of financial and reputational impact.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Servicing customers within a particular industry, which involves mitigating risks and avoiding SLA penalties resulting from any failure of Service. Without this being done effectively BT would be at risk of financial and reputational damage. 

• Ensuring we meet our contractual obligations with their designated customers, driving customer satisfaction and where relevant driving incremental revenue.

• Responsible for utilising available resources across all geographies (material, human and tooling) to ensure the successful deployment of the Live Service, to their designated customers.

• Owning and resolving their designated customer escalations

• Providing Capacity and Availability management and planning input into the design of networks, services, systems architecture as well as the development and integration of overall solutions that contribute to meeting and surpassing their designated customer requirements and satisfaction.

• Provide aspects of consultancy, design, development, analysis, reporting, and other professional services that fall within the client capacity and availabilty management function for their designated customers.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Technology awareness: To be recognised across the business as an expert in a network capacity management technology (e.g. data, voice, network security).

• Analytical: Highly analytical person, able to interpret data and build a storyboard offering 

• Relationship Management

• Responsibility for managing responses for all availability and capacity related customer requests ensuring that configurations and orders produced accurately and to timescales and the solution meets requirements 

• Able to work with customers and stakeholders to build the business cases for increasing capacity bandwidth, driving revenue for Enterprise and BT

• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

• Qualifications/Training: ITIL4 Foundation (mandatory within 12 months); Vendor product based training on both the technology deployed (e.g. BMC) and the technology in use (preferred)
