Canterbury SCL provides high quality diagnostic pathology services to the community, healthcare professionals and their patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your skill set, while utilising your wealth of knowledge and experience. You will be the first point of contact between patients, medical referrers and our laboratory. You will also be responsible for booking appointments for patients from Canterbury, Nelson and Marlborough, for routine blood and glucose tests, as well as confirming some results.

We will highly consider candidates who have previously worked in workforce planning, reservations, patient-booking environments.

This is a permanent, part time position of 30 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday.

Please Note:

For the initial period of employment, starting 21 March 2022, this role will be 14 hours per week only, Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 12pm, before increasing to 30 hours per week from 2 May 2022

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• You will be quality conscious, with a high degree of attention to detail yet competent in dealing with high volumes of work in a precise and timely manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Be a highly motivated and organized team player, with a commitment to service excellence
• Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills, managed with a sense of resilience
• Experience working in the healthcare sector or, knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage, but not essential.
• Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
