Smart Start Interlocks changes people's lives.

Smart Start Interlocks is the main provider of alcohol interlock devices to people who have been caught drink driving and have been issued an alcohol interlock sentence by the courts.

At Smart Start our duty is to assist and support clients, helping them succeed in the interlock programme and achieve long-lasting, positive change in their lives. Alcohol interlocks are proven to change individuals' behaviours around drink driving.

It’s is a fast-paced & reactive role where you'll learn all areas of the business.

Job Requirements

  • Lots of phone calls, inbound and outbound
  • Answering current clients' questions and solving their problems
  • Explaining the interlock sentence to clients and helping them get an interlock installed
  • Coordinating new installs of interlock units with our nationwide network of service centres
  • Data entry, logging call notes and collecting client details
  • Monitoring our team inbox & responding to emails
  • Following up delinquent clients and setting up repayment plans
  • Dealing with different government agencies (Police, NZTA, Department of Corrections) as well as lawyers and court staff
  • On-call after hours every 6–8 weeks (calling back any urgent voicemails received after hours during the week and on the weekend)
