Job description
My client is a market leader in designing, developing, and manufacturing bespoke point of purchase and graphic display retail products. They have experienced continuous growth in the 70 years that they've been trading and are the trusted partner for brands and retailers across the world. Due to this continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced CAD Engineer to join their organisation on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the Head of Projects, you would play a key role in their design team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget. your key responsibilities for this position would be to;
Take briefings from either the Head of Projects, or client with regard to development jobs
Produce drawing packs according to agreed timescales
Take responsibility for the functionality and ease of manufacture of the products being developed
Maintain the drawing library in a methodical manner.
Support the entire team in ensuring Projects are delivered on time and on budget
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following essential skills and attributes;
At least 3 years practical post-graduation experience working with Autodesk Inventor (or Solidworks)
Experience of working within a Manufacturing design office
Ability to produce solutions that are not only fit for purpose, but also elegant, and as close to the to the design concept as possible / practical
An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
An ability to work on own initiative and take decisions
Experience using AutoCad to an intermediate level
It would also be highly desirable if you had the following;
Experience gained within a Point Of Purchase Manufacture environment
Knowledge of materials and processes undertaken by the company (i.e sheet wood, plastics, metalwork, vacuum forming etc)
Practical experience in model making / prototyping
Able to use Alpha CAM and software
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm. You would be based on site in their Suffolk offices and this opportunity is paying an attractive salary as well as company benefits.
