Our Whangarei Contracting team is looking for an experienced Cable Jointer to join them and work on lines up to 33kV .

The roleReporting to the Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for the installation of electricity network conductors. You will also:

  • Install, replace and repair underground distribution assets
  • Joint distribution assets up to and including 33kV
  • Excavate and reinstate underground cable installation sites
  • Carry out routine inspections, fault finding and repair overhead installations, underground cables and testing of instruments

About youTo be considered for this role you'll need to be a Cable Jointer with a current EWRB registration with a limited or practising licence, along with a current Class 1 driver's licence. You'll also have:

  • Experience to carry out cable jointing and terminating on paper insulated and polymeric cables
  • Sound technical knowledge of cables and local network systems, procedures and standards
  • A strong commitment to health and safety
  • A team player and 'can do' attitude with strong interpersonal skills working in a multi-cultural environment
